The gases used in Respiration In both the organisms [plants, animals] are same. That is Oxygen for inhaling and carbon-dioxide is exhaled. But it is only during photosynthesis that plants breathe in carbon-dioxide for carrying photosynthesis in presence of chlorophyll and sunlight.

But the system of respiration varies from plants and animals.
