how does rhizobium help in improveing soil fertilly ?

It forms symbiotic association with the roots of leguminous plants and fix the elemental nitrogen (N2) into ammonia (NH3) which is utilised by the host plant. The ammonia is also released from the root nodules of leguminous plants to soil thus raising the fertility status of the soil.
