Rizhobium helps in nitrogen fixation by  converting the ammonia to amino acids that can be used by the plant for the making of food through photosynthesis.

EXPLANATION:

Legumes and rizhobium live in symbiotic relation. They are interdependent on each other. The legumes plants are unable in fixing the atmospheric nitrogen.

Rizhobium can convert the nitrogen to other forms but does not have the favorable condition to work. The legume plant provides the favorable condition. Leghaemoglobin is provided by the plant to rizhobium.

After photosynthesis the product formed is ammonia which is not used directly by the plant. It is converted by the rizhobium.
