The term 'satyagraha' was developed by Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948)......... he deployed satyagraha movement in the Indian Independence movement and also during his earlier struggles in South Africa for Indian rights..........

it is a method of agitation based on truth and non violence. the word satyagraha is the compound of two words satya means (truth)and agraha means (holding fast).it means holding the truth

no matters wt happens. it gives the idea of truth force that truth is force, a power,

a weapon. .

the idea of satyagraha emphasised on the power of truth and and need to search for truth .Ghandi meant adhering to truth under all circumstances. for,

Ghandi if the cause was true and struggle was against injustice then physical forces was not necessary to fight the oppressor. ..
