Ruskin Bond lived in a stately bungalow and his room overlooked the broad Rajpur Road. The house and the room which was his, was of the typical Anglo-Indian type and there was a wide array of pets in the house. When he looked out of his window, he could see the Rajpur Road, winding its way up the beautiful hills to Mussoorie, which is now a hill station in the state of Uttarakhand. He could see the pine and oak trees which were typical of the region.

Ruskin Bond (born 1934) is an Indian author who writes mainly children’s literature. He is a Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan winner.
