social division takes place when one type of difference overlaps the other, this happens when one kind of difference becomes more important than the others and people start feeling that they belong to diff. communities.
eg:the difference btwn. blacks and whites becomes a social division in the U.S as blacks tend to be poor there.

Social division takes place when some people marginalise others on basis like cast, creed, gender, race etc. For example:
1. Some people are not allowed to enter the temple because of their cast.
2. People are not allowed to take water or food in some backward areas.
3. In ancient times students of backward castes were not allowed to sit with other students.
