It is because of the various layers of atmosphere that earth maintains the temperature. The energy rays coming from sun are trapped by the layers and those trapped ones contribute to the temperature. Since moon has no atmosphere, it wont be able to hold the energy rays falling on them and hence temperature gets so low

the erath's atmosphere , the greenhouse gases..trap the sunlight n thus the temperature changes in earth are mild as compared to moon .
the moon which is without a substantial atmosphere , can gain or lose heat vry easily .
thus ,  from this we can say tht the temperature changes on the moon are vry substantial whn compard to earth..
