how does the amount of salts increase in waterlogging

suppose there are 150 million parts of salt in 1 cm of river.
in water logging the water rises 4-5 cm then all the salts combine together and add up.
this is known as sanity problem.it can destroy a productivity of a fertile land in about 4-5 months.
