how does the aquatic life gets affected in case of water pollution?

if there is a large number of water pollution then the garbage thrown by us slowly the river will be full of dust objects and obviously the covering of these garbage over the river and there is no space for the oxygen to be mixed with water by which marine animals breathe and due to the lack of oxygen they will die
