Ok, to understand that first to need to understand what causes the climate of Earth to change.
The factors which affect climate of Earth are:
1) Distance from the Sun
2) Earth's tilt
3) Sunrise and Sunset
Distance from the Sun
It is the most important reason, as the distance from sun determines the surface temperature as (if the planet is close enough to sun then it would get a lot of heat and so the opposite may happen) which affects the climate.
Earth's tilt
Because rotation of the Earth around it's axis causes day and night on Earth. Due to this most regions on Earth get variation in the length of daytime, hence it gives varying climatic conditions.
Sunrise and Sunset
The length of day is determined by the difference in time of sunrise and sunset. Because of Earth's angle of inclination, the length of day does not remain the same throughout the year. And due to this in Northern hemisphere rhe longest is on June 21 and shortest on December 21. In Southern hemisphere longest day is on December 21 and shortest on June 21.
And when you go towards poles from equator, because the Earth's axis is tilted poles receive less heat energy from Sun and the Sunrise and Sunset time also changes which causes a change in the climate.
