in low temperature,the molecules present in the body or object tries to contract and becomes dense then the body in high temperature or hot where the molecules expands of loosely packed and have low density, like this they varies with eachother ,hope it will help you..

on further heating the particles in the liquid gain more kinetic energy at the stage the kinetic energy of the particle became so large that the particles are equal to escape out of liquid to form a gas......
