There are 4 types of lists which help in distributing powers between central and state govt. thet are-

1. union list- the central govt. makes law under this list.
2. state list- the state govt. make laws under this list.
3. Concurrent list- Both Govts. can make laws under this list.
4.Residuary subjects- Central Govt. make laws
