Farmers in Palanpur started using HYV ( high yielding varieties ) of seeds in their farming.  Proper use of insecticides and pesticides prevented their crops from diseases.  Small and medium scale farmers used savings to use in farming.  Smaller farmers borrowed money from medium and large scale farmers who did not exploit them like village moneylenders.
