How does the focal length changes when we shift looking from distant object to nearby object?

our eye lens has the power of accomodation.
it is convex in nature ciliary muscles bend the eye lens to accommodate to far objects.

focal length can be changed with the help of ciliary muscles . when we look at distant object , the focal length increases and when we look at nearby objects the focal length decreases
