Schools. - We like lots of smart people. And parents like the free childcare and education.

Hospitals - Universal healthcare has been normal since the 1930’s. Very popular with sick people.

Roads - very popular with people. Very useful from getting from A to B. Funded by petrol taxes.

Railways - built with public money, used to transport people in Auckland and Wellington. Was sold of in the 1990’s and then purchased back again.

Libraries, and Parks and forests - very popular places, Funded by Central Government and local government.

Prisons - not popular with their residents (sad fact, for many female prisoners it is the first place where they are locked in a cell and are safe for a few hours). Quite popular with the public - so long as they don’t have to live there.
