Plasma membrane is a selectively permeable membrane that separates and protect the cell contents from the surrounding medium.

If the plasma membrane is ruptured , the Cell Contents may leak out of the Cell and the process of Diffusion And Osmosis will be disturbed which will eventually lead to the death of the Cell and it’s content.

plasma membrane may rupture due to some kind of external environmental or genomic factors .......If theplasma membrane ruptures or breakdown then the cell will not be able to exchange material from its surrounding by diffusion or osmosis. Thereafter the protoplasmic material will be disappeared and the cell will die.
