It was a very hot day in Sicily, in the summer month of July. The earth was parched and dry and Mount Etna was sending out fumes which made the day even more hot. but the water drop and scented carob tree.

The poet describes it as a very hot day. It was summer in Silican july . A snake came to his water trough to drink water beside the big dark carob-tree. And the mount Etna famous volcano was throwing smoke the poet was in pyjamas .
