Answer:
the poet does not seem to be regretful for his loss of childhood. instead, he feels nostalgic for the loss of his childhood and finally settles down that his childhood has gone to some unknown place, a place which could only found in an infant's innocent face. according to him, innocence is only the childhood. his mind was being manipulated by others until he was eleven and became the master of his own mind.
