The poet glorified the power of the poetry in the poem by comparing the poetry with different things like gilded monuments and marble. He described the power of poetry with the comparison of war where everything is destroyed by war except poetry. The poet claimed that even The Mars wanted to destroy it he could not do it because it would live in the memory of people till the judgement day.

The poet glorifies the power of poetry in an attractive  manner. He shows pith in his poetry and says that even time and death cannot destroy his poetry
