Transport is required for trade and commerce. It is not important for IT industry and other tertiary activities. However, it is extremely necessary for primary and secondary activities as the ones who purchase final products of these sectors should recieve them. Air transport is quite expensive, especially for large and heavy goods such as automobiles and other heavy machinery. Water transport is cheaper than road transport, but it cannot be used without a river or any other source of water. It cannot be used between Mumbai and Delhi. Road transport will go through roads, and availibility of good roads is economic as well as retains the quality of goods. Poor quality roads may damage quality of goods.
