Explanation:

the statement of second law states that force is basically rate of change in linear momentum of a moving body

if speed of a body is very less than speed of light, it's mass remains constant during the motion so momentum changes only because of change in velocity of the body.......and rate of change of velocity is acceleration

So we conclude that

force = mass × acceleration
