How does the snake try to save himself from the pursuing stick

As poet threw the stick,snake moved the part of snake that was still out of the hole in the hole violently and hurriedly,thus he tried to save himself by moving inside the hole.

The snake didn't want to come up from the hole. He tried to save himself by pursuing the stick, he wanted to grab himself into the hole. The snake wanted to hide himself back side of stick in the hole.

Snake also being feared, all snakes are not harmful. So which snakes are not harmful they fear from the humans that humans will kill him.
