The story, Mrs Packletide’s Tigers by Saki is a beautiful and apt satire on the past society that had a very ruthless and callous attitude to wildlife. He has satirized the then British officers and people in general who took immense pleasure in hunting tigers. It is true that owing to this ruthlessness and callousness the number of tiger population in Indian subcontinent had fallen drastically. The author brought this fact to light by witty satire.
