The novel is about Griffin and his scientific discovery, the theory of making bodies invisible. His discovery can create a change in the society if it gets into the wrong hands. And instead of sharing the secret, he makes himself invisible to satisfy his own ego. Scientists have certain rules that when anything new is discovered, it has to be shared with the community of scientists. Science can be a mystery to the common man who is not a scientist as he cannot understand it. We see in the novel that the invisibility is not understood by people and this causes trouble for the already isolated Invisible Man. Science if used for the benefit of humanity is good but if it is used as a tool to harm humans then it becomes corrupt. Griffin tries to terrorise people because he is invisible and creates a lot of problems. Thus, Science in the wrong hands is like a weapon that can cause destruction.
