Perhaps the best known of the(insectivorous insect-eating plants)The Venus fly trap(Dionaea muscipula) exhibits a unique system by which it attracts, kills, digests, and absorbs it's prey.....If insect secretions, such as uric acid, stimulate the trape,it will clamp down further on the prey and from an airtight seal.

Answer:

Flytraps lure insects by the reddish lining in the leaves and by secreting a fragrant nectar. When bugs land in the jaws of the flytrap, it doesn't clamp down right away. The Venus flytrap's primary prey is ants, but it will also eat flies, beetles, slugs, spiders and even tiny frogs.
