How does the water kept in an earthen pot become cold during summer? (In long answer)

Earthen pot has tiny pores on its surface they absorbs the water from its surrounding air and keep the water cold

Water looses its temperature through small pores present in the pot. Hence in an earthen pot (matka) become cool during summer.
