How does the water kept in an earthen pot become cool during summer answer?
Answers
Okay!
AS YOU KNOW POT HAD BEEN MADE THROUGH SOIL SO OBVISOULY IT HAS A HUGE AMOUNT OF PORES PRESENT ON IT'S SURFACE...
IN SUMMERS THE WARM WATER EVAPORATES THROUGH THE PRESENT PORES AND PROVIDE A COOL TEMPERATURE INSIDE..
HENCE THE WATER IS FOUND TO BE COOL..

The Earthen pot is a covered pot made up of soil to store water.
It has small microscopic pores all around its body . Altough these pores arenot visible to our eyes still these holes allow air and water to pass through them.
In rural and urban areas Earthen pots are used to store water especially during summers to store water cool for a longer period of time.
HOW IT WORKS?
During summer the temperature is high due to which evaporation rate also increases.
*The process by which water is converted from liquid to gaseous state is called Evaporation.
*Evaporation causes cooling because for evaporation there is a requirement of minimum temperature to break the force of molecule among them which is called latent heat.
In earthen pots, the water get out of the through the pores which get evaporated due to high temperature of summer which leads to absorption of latent heat which causes cooling and the water in the earthen pot becomes cool.
