how does the water kept in an earthen pot (matka) because cool during summer?​

The earthen pot is porous with lot of pores on it the water poses out through these pores and the water gets evaporated at the surface off the boat thereby causing cooling..,

Water looses its temperature through small pores present in the pot. Hence in an earthen pot (matka) become cool during summer.
