How does topography, climate, soil, water affect in distribution of population?
Answers
Rugged and undulating topography restricts the condensation of human population in any area. Where the water supply is poor, low population densities will be found. If the soil is rich and fertile; the population density is often high as people are able to yield good crops. If the soil is thin and unproductive, few people will live in the area.Of all the geographic influences on population distribution, climatic conditions are perhaps the most important. Climate affects population distribution both directly as well as indirectly through its effects on soil, vegetation and agriculture that have direct bearings on the pattern of population distribution.

Answer:
1) Topography: the region with more physical features and facilities exhibit and attract more population whereas the areas with limited or low facilities have scarce population.
2) Climate: the regions with moderate and suitable climate has more population as compared to regions with extreme type of climate.
3) Soil: regions with fertile soil exhibit more population as agriculture takes place in fertile areas as compared to regions with less fertile soil which have less agriculturists as well as population.
4)Water: areas having adequate and good water supply have more dense population due to good supply of water resource as compared to regions having less water resources as well as less population.
