how does transpiration help in upward transport of substances.

transpiration removes the water from the leaf cells which creates a low pressure in those cells... And hence the substances get pushed towards the cell through osmosis. it is known as transpirational pull

transpiration is the loss of water from the aerial parts of the plant especially through leaf.so when there is transpiration occurring a large amount of water is lost. so to meet the water requirements of leaf a suction is created which pulls the water from the xylem tissue towards leaves.
