First of all there are two types of twins :

\textbf{1. Monozygotic Twins}

These twins take birth when a single zygote divides into two during it's formation. The single zygote may divide into two parts and give rise to two embryos. This happes due to the cause of temperature. They are also known as identical twins. These twins share common features.

\textbf{2. Dizygotic twins}

These twins take birth when two sperms fertilize two different eggs. This happens only when two eggs are released by the ovary and both get fertilised resulting into formation of two embryos. These are also known as non identical twins. These twins doesn't share common feature.
