How does water kept in an earthen pot become cool during summer season?

the water kept in earthened pot becomes cool during summer as the pot absorbs water from inside and when it come outside it get evapurated and result in cooling effect to pot and to water kept in it

The earthen pot has a large number of extremely small pores in its walls. Some of the water kept on the earthen pot continuously keeps seeping through these pores to the outside of the pot. This water evaporates continuously by taking the latent heat of vaporization from the earth and pot and the remaining water. In this way, the earth and pot and remaining water lose heat and get cooled.
