earth rotates around the sun along with its nine planets . it rotates in an orbit which is elliptical in shape. it rotates from west to east that is from left to right.it completes its rotation in 24 hours.it completes its revolution in 365 days.

Our earth rotates around the sun and also on its own axis.Earth and other planets revolve around the sun because they are held together by gravitational forces, exerted by the Sun and also amongst themselves and this makes the planets move in near circular orbits around it. The earth revolves and rotates together.It takes 24 hours i.e one day to complete one revolution and 365 1/4 days to complete one revolution.
