As we know that Air is present between the particles of soil,.the roots of plant take the oxygen requirement for respiration from the air present in between the soil particle by the process of diffusion through the roots hair of plant the roots hair are contact with the soil ,oxygen diffuses into roots hair and reached all the other cell of the roots for respiration.

Exchange of gases in the roots of a plant takes place by the process of diffusion from the air present in between soil particles. oxygen diffuses into the root hair end passes into the root cells, from where carbon dioxide moves out into the soil.
