Eno has the main ingredients, sodium bicarbonate and Citric acid which is a weak organic acid that has the chemical formula C6H8O7. The buffering properties of citrates(the byproduct of the reaction) are used to (Neutralize) control of pH (The troubling acidity). Citric acid is used with sodium bicarbonate in a wide range of effervescent* formulae for ingestion.

*Effervescent: is the escape of gas from an aqueous solution and the foaming or fizzing that results from that release.

You wrote lemon flavoured. So,basically lemon is added as a flavouring agent. It’s not about flavour even if it is orange,ajwain flavoured ENO, it will contain acid because ENO contains citric acid but the citric acid is a weak acid & contains sodium carbonate (weak base).In the anhydrous (dry) powder form, citric acid is inert. Once you add water, the acid becomes active (dissociates) and is able to react with the carbonate ion.

Acid + Carbonate ion --> salt + CO2 + water.
