Exchange of gases take place in plants through stomata pores. Plants take carbon dioxide gas during day time to perform their photosynthesis process .The oxygen gas which is released during photosynthesis process is used by plants in a small amount for their respiration . And during night time plants take oxygen gas for their respiration and release carbon dioxide form during the process of photosynthesis.

Answer: Tiny apertures called stomata are found on the surface of leaf. O₂ diffuses in through stomata and finds its way into the cells of the leaf. Increase in the concentration of CO₂ opens the stomata and CO₂ is released in the atmosphere

Fig: Stomata - the tiny pores on leaf surface open and close for exchange of respiratory gases and transpiration.
