The light produced by the sun or any star or celestial object will not stop but will keep going. If we go far enough say 6 billion light years away and we look in the direction of the sun ( suppose that there is nothing but empty space so you can only see the sun), you cannot see it as the first ray of light from the sun has not even reached that far. However if you go around 4 billion light years away from the sun and try again, you will be able to see the light from the sun.
SHORT ANSWER: Light will not stop unless if there is something blocking it's path.
(If you wanted to know how long it takes to reach our eyes in earth, it is an approximate of 8 minutes)
