The success mantra for the pressure groups is that they tend to bear good relationships with the governmental bodies like civil servants, ministers and MLAs and are able to influence legislature.
A pressure group must be strong financially. Lack of capital in a field can cause a great loss to them.
Media coverages also play a significant role for pressure groups. It is the media that can influence public opinions. Having good relations with media leads to a huge advantage.
Also, even a small decision taken can lead to big changes. A leader must be aware of those things, and if they does, success will no longer be awaited.
