They were much successful in influencing painting,literature and architecture of India by-
1) PAINTING
-They themself drew paintings in which Indians we're always shown doing britishers work and they were shown down as compared to britishers
-They also added a ban that no one can paint anything objectionable for British

2) LITERATURE
Britishers also added a ban on vernacular languages so people were restricted to write in their own languages which just allowed them to write either in English or not to write.

3)ARCHITECTURE
Britishers also wanted to leave their name in India for achitecture and they made various monuments like gateway of India.

PAINTING: a) Many English painters arrived in India in search of princely patronage to please the British society.

b) Paintings had the themes of Indian royal courts, flora and fauna.

c) Indian painters also changed their selection of themes and medium of painting.

d) Indian painters like Raja Ravi Varma, Jamini Roy etc. were greatly influenced by the western style.


2. LITERATURE: a) The scholars at Fort William College in Calcutta translated the ancient texts, wrote grammars, compiled dictionaries in English.

b) The translations also highlighted the greatness of the british.

c) Literary figures like Rabindranath Tagore, Sarojini Naidu, R.K. Narayanan etc. were influenced by the English pattern of writing.


3. ARCHITECTURE: a) Many churches and architectural wonders were built in Madras in English style.

b) The governor of Madras gave the city a colonial look with bunglows and banquet halls to suit the British for official functions.

c) In Bombay, churches, railway stations etc. were constructed that resembled various buildings in England.
