Fertilization in gymnosperms occurs by the process of siphonogamy.

Important Information about fertilization in gymnosperms:-

1. All the male gametes in this are non motile.

2. Pollen tube formation process occurs.

3. Siphonogamy is seen in both gymnosperms & angiosperms.

4. Siphonogama is the addition of angiosperm & gymnosperms.

5. Usually in gymnosperms polyembryony is seen.

6. Word polyembryony means number of embryos will be more than one in the seed.
