How find the common factor of hcf by prime factorization?

Hey!!

HCF stands for Higest Common Factor.

For example you have to find HCF of 12 and 6

By the prime factorisation method

12 =2 × 2 × 3

6 = 2× 3

Now you have see that here is common 2

Hence the HCF of 12 and 6 is 2.

Let's take an two numbers for example- 14 & 7.

=> 14 =7×2.

=> 7= 7×1.

If we observe the factors .There is a common factor (7) in both prime factorization.

So, The HCF of 14 & 7 is 7.
