Since the is spherical and its axis istilted to 23.5 degrees from the plane of its orbit around the sun the entire earth doesn't receive the same rays of thesun. The region between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricon is the torrid zone.This region receivesdirect rays of the sun and thus is very hot.
