how glucose is absorbed across cell membranes

The cells along your small intestineabsorb glucose along with other nutrients from the food you eat. Aglucose molecule is too large to passthrough a cell membrane via simple diffusion. Instead, cells assist glucosediffusion through facilitated diffusion and two types of active transport.
