Gross Cropped Area (GCA) is the total area sown once as well as more than once in a particular year. When thecrop is sown on a piece of land for twice, the area is counted twice in GCA. On the other hand, Net Sown Area is the area sown with crops but is counted only once.

Is there any difference between the net sown area and the net cropped area? If yes, what it is?

I will explain you the concept here, because the definitions were given in earlier answers.

Consider,

You have 10 acres of land - This is Gross Cropped Area

In rhat 10 acres of land, you regularly sow the crops in 5 acres - This is Net Cropped Area.

Due to some reasons like drought or unfavorable climatic conditions or whatever the reason may be, you sow the crop only in 3 acres of that 5 acre land for one season. In the next season you again continue the sowing of 5 acre land. This 3 acre land is Net Sown Area.
