• The earliest printing technology was developed from AD 594 on Buddhism’s need to preserve all teaching and maintain a ‘book’ of all thoughts. This involved writing on clay tablets which then led to wood block printing in China and Japan.
• In Europe, printing developed with images printed on cloth, playing cards, etc. around the early fifteenth century.
• Finally Gutenberg, in Germany designed the movable type printing press in 1439, thereby starting the modern age of printing.
