irrigation as changed the crop on the social landscape excessive irrigation have increased salinization of soil and also effects the soil fertility . this leads to changes cropping patterns , hence in many religions farmers are shifting to water intensive and commercial crops . for example punjab become the producer of rice irrigation has transferred the social landscape to to a large extent by widening the gap between rich and poor for irrigation many multipurpose projects have been introduced.
