In the arid zone there is considerable scope for growing fruit trees like ber and pomegranate and fuel wood yielding trees like Acacia (Kikar), Prosopis (Mosquite) and Eucalyptus (Safeda). In such areas, large scale planting of shelter belts will minimize soil erosion caused by wind. It will also help in the establishment of pastures and grazing lands. Later on this land can be used for growing pearlmillet and mungbean.

Due to increase in the scintific technology dry areas also can be cultivated the invention of fertilisers and pesticides and HYV seeds also help alot of farmers which help in faster growth of crops but not all farmers are able to afford this as these are a bit costly and due to increase in the use of chemicals it effects ppls health badly . scientific technology has benefits as well as bad effects
