Author has created eerie atmosphere in the story a face in the dark by adding the scene of night, mr oliver’s decision to go through the forest, the winds, shaking of pine trees and some supernatural elements like the boy without face, the watchman,the blowing off of lamp and mr oliver’s gasping and fear.
