  • the plains extend through delhi , up , uttarakhand,bihar,jharkhand,west bengal and arunachal pradesh in india and parts of nepal,bhutan.bangaladesh , tibet and china
  • the basin is bounded by the himalayas in the north , the peninsular plateau in the south and the purvanchal hills in the east
