How helpful is "fact checking" of speeches?

It is important as the problem is, there is so much misinformation spread around that audiences no longer know what to believe. So the person who gives speech might be wrong or the facts he tell about in his speech might be false. Henceforth, to avoid the orator from mentioning about fake promises or facts, fact checking is done in speeches.
